During guided reading, students write a reflection of the book they read or make a personal connection to the book. Students usually write on a blank piece of paper, blank white board, or journal. These products will help encourage students to write and build a love for writing. They can have a choice of colored paper or a white board that gives them line boundaries and a space to draw a picture. Many students do not have print knowledge at the beginning of the year. These white boards will not discourage students who are learning the reading and writing connection
