The Circuits and K’nex kits will help my students explore and use critical thinking skills. I plan to set up the kits in the library for all the students. There currently isn't a designated maker space in my library. I began my year as a librarian in July and found that my library did not have a maker space. By creating an area specifically for building, creating and exploring I will give my students an advantage in math and science, as well as a look into a possible future career in engineering. A maker space is a great way to include engineering and math in a fun, safe and engaging manner. A library maker space would allow my students to use the library as a place of research beyond books.
