These books will not only be present in my classroom library where students can check out books at will, but they will serve as a primary resource for a research report they will be completing. Their reports will be on important figures in history, focusing on diversity and culture. I don't want to rely on internet sources for research. Rather, I would like to foster their love for reading by providing these books as the basis for their research. We have been fortunate to be back in the classroom (hybrid) since October. However, it has only been a few short weeks that we have been back together as a full class in person. Students are excited to be back in the classroom collaborating and sharing their learning. Since we have been back, my students have thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands on a physical book. I'm excited to provide them with another opportunity to do that. This time it will align directly with a project we are completing.
