One of my goals heading into my fifth year of teaching is to fuel that desire for more that I have observed in these curious and creative second graders. I hope to facilitate their desire for more dynamic learning opportunities by supporting them with stronger Art and PE. Though we've made it work with the materials at hand, I want to amplify my teaching practice by providing more tools for students this year. I would love to include more mindful moving in my class through yoga and intentional PE times. Additionally, I've chosen some age and standard appropriate art tools such as oil pastels and water colors. These donations, along with the others listed, will make more space for Art & PE in my classroom, and ultimately further student growth and academic success. Tools for moving and creating help me meet the needs of my diverse learners. Students want to move and create and they deserve the space to do just that!
