My students will be coming to me with a large range of different reading skill levels. Some are still in the beginning stages of reading and others are already above grade level. My goal is for every student, no matter what level they are at, to find a book that they connect to and love. This age is really a turning point for reading to become not only something they HAVE to do, but something they WANT to do. It is so important to have a variety of different chapter books for the ones who are ready and need to be pushed academically. However, I never want any of my students to feel as though they can't enjoy reading just because they might not be able to read the big chapter books yet.

About my class
