Through meaningful youth involvement, young people can transform systems and empower communities and infuse adult involvement in the government. Younger generations must have readily available tools enabling their full participation in decision‑making arenas to better shape a brighter future for all! These tools you are sponsoring help our students create & debate legislation that could be an actual law in the state of Florida. Through the use of these tools in our Youth In Government Elective our students can better prep for their mock legislative assembly. If their bill passes through both the House and the Senate- our Governor looks at it to be an ACTUAL law in our state! Which is an AMAZING opportunity for our kiddos as they have a whole different perspective on state and local problems than we do as adults. By sponsoring our class you will be fueling their public speaking skills, ability to ask non-debatable technical questions, and participate in Pro & Con Debates. We also have frequent speakers from our local community come in and both the podiums plus microphone will make this experience much smoother. The doorbell will also allow us to keep our door locked to reduce the interuptions of our student's presentations. The gavels and collars will be a part of our second Youth In Government students opportunity to lead our mock Supreme Court in determining if our mock legislation is "Constitutional."
