These readings will expose my third graders to a whole new world. It will ignite a love for reading and create curiosity in them. It will get their parents actively involved in the learning process and will build lifelong readers. I notice every year my students come into my third-grade classroom, they lack confidence in reading comprehension. I figure and notice that because they’ve been exposed to reading at home. My students often hesitate when it comes to analyze and know the purpose of informational text. They can read the words but there’s not enough information in their long term memory to help them. With these books, they will be exposed to a wide variety of informational text and will store this information in their long term memory and will retrieve this information throughout their life. With these books, they can share this new found knowledge with those around them and apply them in other content areas.
