I am requesting wobble chairs to help my students maintain their focus throughout the day. Have you ever attended a job training, conference or meeting and had to sit for an extended period of time? How comfortable was that for you? Where you tempted to take a restroom break just so you could get up from your seat? Now, imagine a fifth grade student sitting on a stationary plastic chair with no cushion all day long. As teachers, we do our best to plan so students can move around throughout the day but even with that, students become restless. Flexible seating arrangements allow them to wobble or rock while being seated. This helps them become less restless and more focused during lessons. Having flexible seating options empowers students to make choices that will make a positive impact on their learning. I thought this was crazy until I tried one myself. I loved it! It makes learning fun! Please consider donating to help me share this wonderful flexible seating experience with my students.
