By having books that the students chose, available to them, I hope to harbor love and interest in reading. Hopefully, students will take interest in new authors and also be interested in each others' books if they decide to trade. They will also have space to introduce their books to each other and talk about their books. We're going to try to have a book club after their individual reading time in class. The students did a little bit of research when choosing their books so they will be able to make more connections.
