I teach middle and high school sciences. There have been many times that I have wanted to provide students the opportunity to actually see the things that we are talking about in class. A big focus in high school biology is cell structure and functions. I love showing students something they can't see with the naked eye. Whether it is cells or microscopic organisms. They are always so amazed! I can't even fulfill the state standards completely because I am lacking microscopes in the classroom. I want my students to have the the same opportunities as other students in public schools and the materials they need to be successful in school and out of school. Our school is funded through the state and not our county. We send in a list of the things we want/need for our classrooms and then the state decides what we need/going to purchase for our classroom.
