My students have been diagnosed with autism, ADHD, as well as many other disabilities. All of these disabilities have one thing in common, they absolutely need a calming space! These bean bag chairs/fidget toys give my students the calming/relaxing tools that they need to give my students a sense of autonomy and control. Studies have shown these students often experience the world differently, needing both more sensory input and less than a typical person. Studies have also shown that creating a calming space for students has shown great improvements in cognition, communication, relationships, motor skills, and emotional expression. My students absolutely need these built-in calming supports!
