My goal as a teacher is to equip my students to be leaders. I want them to have ownership of our classroom and their learning, part of that involves seating. I want my students to be able to sit and work where they are comfortable...not just in a hard metal chair or concrete floor. Everyone works better when they are comfortable so I want to provide my students with that comfort. When students are comfortable engagement increases and learning is more enjoyable for all involved. The wobbly stools and balls will allow students to move when they need to sit down. The lap desks will allow students to be able to sit anywhere and still have a place to easily write. I have personally witnessed how students respond to having a choice with their learning. I hope these options help students feel more comfortable in our classroom and ready to take on each day!
