We will use these math manipulatives for hands-on instruction. Students will be able to have more practice with the math concepts taught, which in return will help the concepts stick in their brains. We will also use these math manipulatives to review for our state standardized testing. Our first concept will be place value and the students will be able to have an actual visual of place value with the place value coins. The dry erase pockets allow the students to interact with the lesson because the classroom also does not have any dry erase boards. We will use the math big book set to learn more about the concepts we are learning during small group time. The students can pick out a book and read it and use the book to solve some math problems. We can use the number lines to help understand fractions by drawing the fractions on the number line to show their work. It will be a great way to prove their answers.
