We will be making masks, traditional art forms and learning about culture and art from around the world. We will be making Kente cloth from Africa. Mexican bark painting from North America. We will be making Australian animals. We will be making plans in Peru. We will be using watercolor to paint carp with their initials in Japanese calligraphy. We will be making the tulip fields of The Netherlands in pastels. We will also be making a soft pastel drawing of the Aurora Australis. Without help, I will continue to teach art by purchasing my own supplies and asking friends and family members to help. My students will not have access to the same materials as their peers in more established and better-funded programs.
