I teach K-5 resource at small school in a rural community. Throughout the day, I have students with varying abilities enter my classroom. My classroom is fairly large, and I try to make defined spaces within my classroom. At any given time, I could have 5-6 students, and 2-3 teachers working in my classroom at the same time. Many of my students struggle with maintaining focus within the classroom, and would benefit from flexible seating options. I also have a "chill" zone, where my students with autism can go as a calming space. Currently, my "chill" zone is a rug with a pillow or two. Adding a few pieces to this area would make it more inviting. At the end of last school year, my students really enjoy working in this area, and the area designated as my library.
