Our second grade team loves Scholastic News. It gives students an opportunity to learn different science and social studies concepts while also practicing reading skills! In the past, we have learned about the election, animals, citizenship, the environment, and so many other things all while working on reading skills like main idea, details, text features, etc.! Up until last year, we were fortunate to be able to use Scholastic News in our classroom. However, due to budget cuts, we were no longer able to utilize it in our classroom. This year, with your help, we are hoping to bring Scholastic News back! We all have missed how interesting these articles are and how engaged our students are while working on them!

About my class
