We will use the market play furniture for dramatic play and learning in our Kindergarten classroom. The piece is flexible enough that it can be used as a grocery store, vet clinic, bakery, restaurant...anything a creative Kindergarten mind can dream up. Purposeful play is essential in younger grades for integrating and reinforcing academic and social-emotional learning. Students will be able to use math skills when calculating a grocery bill, literacy skills when creating menus, science skills when classifying foods into food groups and social-emotional skills when caring for animals or collaborating with peers during dramatic play activities. The market play furniture can be supplemented with additional accessories over time to broaden the span of dramatic play.
