These books will help me to show students that there are others like them-others that go through the same things they do. It will aid in creating a text-rich environment. I strive to have the best classroom library out there and in creating new lessons with these books, will give students CHOICE in what they read, while teaching them the literacy skills they’ll need for college or employment. I love when students come to me excited about a book and then others want to read it. This CHOICE is very important and creates a more authentic experience with the text.
