The tennis balls requested will be used to quiet the movement of the chairs in the classroom as well as protect the floor. Over the years the metal feet on the chairs have fallen off, and they have created rough spots. The custodians work all summer long waxing and cleaning the floors of the entire building. Having the tennis balls on the chairs will assist in the noise level from student movement and provide protection for the classroom floor. Working in small groups and transitioning is important for 6th graders. A non-distracting environment is critical while solving real-world math problems!
