This year I want to try something new and exciting with my 7th grade science students. Middle school students love challenging puzzles and solving problems. I expect participation to increase significantly. I believe that creating Escape Rooms based on science units will not only be engaging, but will allow students of all abilities to participate and be successful. These materials will allow me to create content specific, problem-based puzzles. When students successfully solve a problem, they decipher codes. Ultimately, they will fully unlock their lockbox to "escape". Winners will be rewarded in various ways and be featured in my Escape Room Hall of Fame. This will be a fun and exciting way to review material, particularly prior to the ​end of year testing. I will be able to further evaluate areas that need additional teaching and review.
