Offering freedom to make fun choices to 5th graders in a reading/writing class alleviates their first thoughts of being stuck in a room that is bland. In offering the seating, students can switch it up from floor seating, wobble seating, to regular chairs. Fun and flexible seating allows for less distractions, freedom of space, and a way to flex the mind. Title I schools fall behind the levels they should be on in many subject areas. Offering fun and exciting ways to change up the monotony of a bland room are one of many solutions to have an inviting environment. I love to fill my class with options and fascinating spaces that encourage the students to be free.
