The materials requested will change the atmosphere of my classroom in such a positive way! The green rug will be placed in the front of my classroom and will be used for morning meetings, circle time and pair share. The alternative seating area will be placed in the back corner of my classroom and will be utilized as an option for students to work in small groups away from their desks. I firmly believe creating a learning environment that students feel comfortable in helps promote student engagement as well as overall learning. Giving students options makes them feel in charge of their own learning. Any alternative seating options creates movement in the classroom which positively effects cognitive development in children as well as keeps them engaged in the lesson at hand.
