My students must keep up with technology within the classroom. They need to have freedom to research and learn more about whatever sparks their interest. In reading education, it is important that the students have access to a variety of reading materials subjects, pictures, videos in order to enhance their learning. Like education changing everyday, so are the interests of my students. In our school we have a computer lab that the students only have access to once a week. It would be a game changer to have the accessibility to technology within our classroom. Struggling readers will often watch a video or view pictures, to help them understand about a particular subject. This accessibility to technology will therefore enable students to express their findings through verbal explanation and in their writing. Students who research and have access to graphic novels, pictures and videos find reading fun and show more excitement in their learning. They tend to then want to become experts and share their knowledge to their classmates. This makes our learning environment interactive and creative. The students are proud of themselves when they feel confident in explaining their findings through oral and written work.
