I am building my classroom library. A collection of diverse books including nonfiction, fiction, and graphic novels should be a part of any classroom library. My students will have the opportunity to practice the many skills that relate to reading. They will be able to check out a book from our classroom and take it home with them. Reading more and more will develop their literacy skills at a crucial time in their education. Since I will know my students' interests and reading abilities better than others, I can help reluctant readers find a book they might enjoy. If the student finds one book, then he or she can find one more.
