This past year, counseling sessions and school wide social emotional lessons focused on empathy, how to calm down, how to solve problems between friends, and skills for learning such as focusing Our daily morning messages on our school-wide broadcast system stress the importance of being the best version of yourself, walking the talk, being a good example to others and a caring school community member. The goal this year is to go more indepth on controlling one's self, using tools to help you focus and calming down in different situations (anxiety, anger, sadness). The sensory furniture and figits will provide students with physical tools to use in counseling sessions to calm one's self down or during class instruction to focus. Our school has provided our students with the mental strategies to focus, calm down and be productive. I want to enhance the counseling center and individuals in the classroom environment with the physical tools.
