All of my students will learn to socialize, to express themselves, and to build their skills in this sensory room. As adults, we often take for granted that we can self-soothe or give ourselves a little pep talk to get us through. Sometimes, children just can't find the words to tell us how they are feeling. Sometimes, they need a safe space to gather their thoughts, look within, and begin to understand their feelings. The donations to this project will allow for a safe space for all of my students to come to learn how to de-escalate, to self-regulate, and to learn the expressive language needed to guide them throughout life in a supportive and loving environment. The skills we embed in our children now create the mold they will take with them throughout their future.
