I believe that children can be successful no matter what when given the right tools and various opportunities to learn the information. We have used gumdrops and toothpicks to build a gingerbread man's home, and the students love discovering new ways to create something that is their own. With these hands-on materials, the children will be able to use their imaginations to problem solve independently and become a life long learner. Students also do better when they are comfortable, and that is why I want to provide my students with various seating opportunities. Even if they are laying on their bellies as long as they are focused, they are learning.
