The use of technology in classrooms has become a necessity. Many of the careers that will be available for my students in the future are all technological based. Since the majority of my students are immigrants and/or born into low-economic situations, the opportunity to interact with technology outside of the school setting is lacking. Unfortunately as we know, the educational system is fueled by monetary aspects, and in our community where the economy is low, resources are often limited to prepare these students to be a competitive professional in their future workplace. It breaks my heart as an educator that my students already have the odds stacked against them due solely to the circumstances in which they were born. Many districts that surround mine provide each student with an iPad/Tablet to enhance their STEAM, basic coding, and other technological skills that are already molding them to be a more desirable candidate for careers in the future. With the Amazon Fire Tablets and headphones in my classroom, I can give my students the chance to also develop these crucial skills and better prepare them for the future. Not only is technology vital in today's classroom, but also a positive and warm environment! With the Hello Sunshine classroom bundle, I will be able to provide my students with a more positive environment that is comforting and soothing. Many of my students suffer from PTSD due to past experiences and the environment that I create for them is crucial to helping them calm down and cope in situations of difficulty in the school setting.
