My students will still have the research projects to complete, but by adding the podcasting element, they are building a different set of skills and developing a more effective way to display their knowledge. By allowing the students the opportunity to verbally express themselves in this manner, they will develop more confidence and perseverance in the completion of the project. Let's not also forget the impact of the assignment having a larger potential audience than just the teacher. We will listen to numerous podcasts and study them for effectiveness. We will then use the critiques created to more effectively build our podcasts and get them where we want to be. Eliminating the written element will, I hope, get higher deeper order thinking results from their information.
