In order to help my students maximize their educational performance, it is essential to provide them an area to calm down and regulate their sensory needs. In addition, it is important to directly and explicitly teach how to self-regulate emotions. In addition, students with special needs should have the ability to have access to a classroom library and reading program that is equivalent to that of their same-aged, non-disabled peers.
