These choices in flexible seating, including Wobble chairs and balance balls, will allow my students options for seating besides the traditional chair. By allowing them an option it gives them a chance to take ownership in their learning. Research shows that students who have flexible seating, when needed, focus more and longer on the assigned tasks. Which in turn helps the teacher with classroom management because there is less redirection that has to occur and learning can increase. This project will also help me teach the students to self regulate when needed. Self-regulation is a key part of elementary, and the earlier the students can learn, the better it will be for them.
