In my classroom we really try to create spaces for independent learning. We work really hard to create engaging activities for our students to work on during centers/ indoor recess so having more seating options will aid in attractiveness of these activities. These chairs would live in the library area in for students to pull if they would like to read in the library but we will also use these during guided reading rotations for centers work/ make up work. Flexible seating gives my students control of their learning and environment. I trust them to be off in their own space and complete their work. I also just have students that do their best work alone sometimes and in their world. Giving them this option of flexible seating makes for a better learning environment for all.
