My classroom library is usually a favorite spot for my kiddos to visit. There are books there and they have good stories but many do not show kids that my students can relate to. I want my students to see themselves in books and really find a connection within the story. This will help my students feel valuable and important and grow an even stronger love for reading. Some books listed are to help students learn how to cope with all of the emotions they feel. I know that when we return in the fall it will be so important for my kids to understand their emotion and know how to handle it. These books will provide many ways for my students to feel connected, cared for, and empowered.
