I need to give my students a reason to get excited to learn in a math classroom. They will be having fun while also using essential math skills like problem solving. These ozobots will give me a chance to have my students work in pairs to complete small missions. They will have to talk to each other and figure out how to get the robot from point A to point B. Once they have mastered simple missions I will have them program the robots to trace functions on graph paper. The ozobots are simple enough for beginners and I believe they will spark interest in my students. Coming from a low income population they usually dont get the chance to be exposed to robotics and coding. The ozobots will also motivate my ELL's to communicate with their classmates. Many times we as educators get stuck in the cycle of notes and independent practice that we forget to give students a chance to have fun and communicate with each other.
