It is so important that students are able to see themselves in literature. Our classroom is a beautifully diverse space. This is often the first space in which students are exposed to literature. By filling my classroom with books that students can relate to, this will create a great first impression of literature. We will use these books for mini lessons about literacy skills and life skills. Students will also be able to use these books for pleasure reading. It is through these first encounters with books & literature that students know that the world SEES them and VALUES them for who they are. Please consider donating to fill my shelves to improve classroom environment, student self worth / value and emotional regulation.
