Thank you for taking the time to check in to our humble DonorsChoose project! We are looking to add to our library collection and expand our selection of multicultural books. The books we have listed will offer our students an opportunity to read about characters in books that are similar to them in terms of characters and life experiences. These books will be accessible to all students in the library and will be used by teachers for small literature circle groups. Literature circles allow students to be able to read and connect with a text on a personal level and discuss their thoughts and opinions with a small group of people versus a larger group. With your help, we will be able to provide these books to students who may not have had the opportunity to read books with characters who resemble them. These books feature African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, and characters with special needs or learning disabilities.
