Each of my lessons has an arts component: a read aloud leads into dramatic play and language development, collaborative visual arts projects expanding on literary themes and presentations. My students will use art materials to develop and hone ideas for their creative writing including the development of character traits, plot, setting and key details. Wooden blocks allow students to think and explore mathematically and spatially. They can work as a team to build structures, analyze their effectiveness and brainstorm ideas to make their structures stronger. Children as young as kindergarten and first grade can learn how to code; robotics are a perfect way for students to develop these skills. Commonly seen in private school classrooms, I want my students to benefit in the same way. With enough STEM resources and art supplies, I will be able to guide my students in countless projects every day without having to use my own salary to provide them with what they need for a great education! I'm a first year teacher, which means I'm starting my classroom from scratch! Please help me gather the materials I need to give my students the best learning experience possible. They are the future leaders of the world. Given that my school is under-served, most families can't donate money or material resources to help teachers get the supplies we need - teachers count on generous donations to make public education meet the needs of our amazing students!
