Since this is a kindergarten class we know how many accidents happen during the year and always on our rugs, unfortunately. My classroom would benefit from a new rug after all the ‘accidents’ it’s been through. Having a single color rug rather than one with patterns will have students be able to sit flexibly rather than looking for their spot or worry that they are sitting on someone else’s spot. This year I want to focus on giving students more independence in the classroom. A comfier rug will welcome students during reading time and curl up to a good book with a friend or on their own.
