Drinking water and keeping hydrated will allow students to focus better while learning. Students will learn the importance of why our bodies need water. Research shows when we are dehydrated "...we have more difficulty keeping our attention focused. Dehydration can impair short-term memory function and the recall of long-term memory (Gowin, 2010) By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will learn responsibility and ownership by taking care and washing their water bottle and bringing it back to class every day. Also since we will not be using disposable water bottles, students also learn about the positive impact we are having on our environment.
