Students in my class benefit greatly from using an iPad as a tool in the classroom. While some students use the iPad as a motivational item that they can earn for positive behavior or completing a given task, others benefit from using it for its instructional applications and learning games, listening to music, or even as a means of increasing communication through the many programs it offers. Finding reinforcing and motivating items and tools is extremely important in working with this population of students, and I have seen first-hand how excited my students are to earn time on the iPad, whether it be for a music break, a favorite video, or to practice their skills with a reading or math game. We currently have one iPad in our classroom, and with 5-7 students, it is often a challenge to allow everyone an opportunity to use it. I am starting this page in hopes of raising funds for a second iPad for my wonderful students as I prepare for the upcoming school year. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
