I believe in a classroom where students feel supported and loved. Our classroom rug is a place where we are able to come together as a class and not only learn and grow, but spend time together and build community. When students are on the rug, I am able to give each individual student attention and support by being so close in proximity to them. Carpet time is also a time where students are able to grow with each other. When we spend time in this area, they are enhancing their speaking and listening skills by engaging in conversation, making friends, learning from and with each other and so much more. It may seem like just a rug, but this rug truly makes all the difference in the way my students develop as learners and people!
