My students will be so excited to receive a magazine that they can read from and feel all grown up! With the various text features such as illustrations, headings and tables, they will gain experience in reading through highly engaging and age-appropriate material! As third graders, students are transitioning from "learning to read" to "READING to LEARN". I will use this magazine to have my students practice reading, marking the text, responding and connecting to text, and becoming lifelong readers. We will read these magazines in small groups so that I can assist students at varying levels with their reading skills.
