These books will give my students an opportunity to explore the world of words. My students are transitioning from the phase of learning to read to reading to learn. These books will help my students with their academic abilities! In class we have a learning block where we teach guiding reading. These books will be used for small guided reading groups, to deep dive into the characters, main idea, and authors message. Kids also have opportunities to independently read during morning work and book nook (during guided reading centers). My students are always excited to read new books with relatable characters. The class library books are always well taken care of. There is a lesson on the importance of taking care of books!
