Many of my students struggle with reading and math, both of which are necessary to be successful in science. Flexible seating and ambient lighting can reduce much of my students' anxieties about science. During independent work periods, students will be able to use the standing area, rug center and saucer chair to find a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere to get their work done. Atmosphere is everything, so your donation can make the difference in my students' attitudes and expectations about learning science this year! By using string lighting, students will find a balance between too much and too little light. They will be able to control the "temperature" of the classroom and moderate their own learning environment with the adjustable light switch. My hope is that with these minor adjustments, students can enter the classroom at ease, opening their minds to the endless possibilities and concepts of life science!
