My students deserve reliable shelving that will keep them safe. There was an incident last year where this was not always the case. They should feel welcomed and loved in their environment, and above all else, safe. My students would benefit from having a variety of interesting, and challenging chapter books they can connect to! It is important for my students to find challenging books they enjoy reading. The books on the list were chosen based on the type of books my students found most enjoyable and often selected for me to read out loud. Flexible seating helps all children learn and feel comfortable while they do it. It is difficult to teach a child who is not always at their best. Especially in our neighborhood where more often than not my kids are coming to school hungry. I want my students to enjoy their time spent reading in my class. This is where they begin to crave that curious and exciting feeling that is experienced when a book takes you on it's journey.
