By providing my students with this listening center, I will be able to provide engaging instruction to all my students; providing accommodations for those that need a little extra push to keep them interested in the activities. Since I teach K-4, there are times that I will have students from various grade-levels. This listening center will give me the opportunity to teach new skills and provide consistent instruction to each student, without any downtime. My students will be able to gain practice with prefixes and suffixes; multiple meanings; context clues; synonyms; along with gaining phonemic awareness skills. These skills will provide them with essential foundations for becoming successful readers.
