We are requesting hands-on supplies for my middle school math classroom. The requested materials - graph dry erase boards, fraction manipulatives, colored pencils, and various classroom supplies - will ensure all students will have the ability to create colorful and interactive math journals for daily math concepts while the hands-on manipulatives will encourage student collaboration and conversations to better “see” and understand math concepts. I am walking into a new classroom this year at a new school where the previous teacher took everything with her when she left. Students need basic supplies of pencils, coloring pencils, glue, staplers, and tape for their individualized math journals. The hands-on manipulatives of dry erase boards and markers, algebraic tools, and 3-dimensional solid shapes will provide individualized learning opportunities while increasing student engagement.
