These materials will make a huge difference in the learning taking place in our classroom. Flexible seating options allow students to have more control over their learning environment and determine how they learn best. Students will have the opportunity to utilize the flexible seating options multiple times each day. The large rug will allow our class to have an area where we come together as one classroom family and be able to share with one another. It will be used for morning meetings and closing circles, as well as read-aloud story time and as a flexible seating option. We will have a significant bilingual and English language learner population in my classroom, and I want to provide materials, like the magnet set, to make them feel more comfortable and acquire the language in a nontraditional, engaging way. Puzzles are also a way for our students who may not speak the same language to learn to work together.
