I am a first-year teacher who just graduated from the University of Arizona. I am so thrilled to teach third grade at a Title I school in Phoenix this fall, yet I am completely on my own with funding my classroom. I do not have many resources yet, and because this is my first job, I do not have much money coming in to pay for the resources I want to give these kids.
Especially because this school is Title 1, I want to make sure these kids are given amazing opportunities that they may not be given at home, and the resources they need to be successful in my class. Many kids do not have family support, so I want to be the consistency that they need, and I hope to have all of the resources I need to make that happen.
I have been really focusing on building my classroom library, so these books would be included and used for read aloud and independent reading throughout the day. Books are hard to find, and prices of books can add up quickly, so I'm hoping to give them nice quality ones that can be loved for years to come. The bean bag chair and wobble seats would also be able to go in the classroom library, giving them a comfortable quiet space to read on their own.
