Being a first year teacher in a title one school, I am still working on filling my classroom with engaging, impactful, and high quality materials. However, finding funding to do this has proven to be challenging. One area that I have no materials for is math manipulatives. I want to provide my students with hands-on materials to help them learn math concepts at their level that will help them gain a deeper understanding of the skills being taught. In this project I have included basic sets of manipulatives that will help get me and my students started. Second grade math concepts are full of meaningful, daily experiences such as telling time and counting money. Therefore, these materials will contribute to my students’ daily successes. Thank you for considering my project, my students and I will cherish any donation you are able to give.
